Summer time running chafing


Summer is here and it is so hot and humid here in Austin. Heat and humidity leads to lots of sweat and therefore leads to chafing.

My most sensitive places that I get chafing are under arms, nipples (yes, that's the worst), lower back.


So how to avoid chafing discomfort?

  • wear only synthetic sports apparel with seamless seams (no cotton)

  • choose a tight fitting sports bra (if you are a lady, for men just avoid very loos and cotton singlets), but avoid the ones that are too tight or too loose

  • synthetic quick drying, moisture wicking, anatomical shaped socks (my favorite ones are Feetures

  • use anti-chafing stick or roller on the chafing areas (I like BodyGlide and 2Toms Sport Shield

  • stay hydrated (my favorite hydration is Nuun)
