Pre race tapering


During preparing for the race it’s very important to reduce workload while maintaining race specific efforts, mentally prepare for major effort.

Reduce or remove strength training and cross training. Last demanding long run should be 2-3 weeks out. Suggested weekly volume before marathon: 🏃🏻‍♀️ 60% of average weekly volume 2 weeks prior; 🏃🏻‍♀️ 30% of average weekly volume on the race week. Last demanding effort (speed work) 5-10 days out.
