How to find motivation, get your mind right and have the best day ever

It is very easy to lose your focus, hope and direction if something goes wrong. But it takes a while to build up productivity, motivation, discipline an

d focus. So what can help you get back on track even if you bumped onto a big obstacle?!

Here some proven techniques that help me get back on track after facing a challenge.

1. Create your morning routine to set up the daily mood, direction and focus.

Hal Elrod wrote the whole book, called MIRACLE MORNING, that teaches how to create morning routine every day and make it your daily habit, so it can help you to live your best life. Hal called his morning routine SAVERS, which stands for:

S - silence

A - affirmations

V - visualisation

E - exercise

R - reading

S - scribing

I find this morning routine very easy to follow and it gives me structure.

As my silence time I use meditation. My favorite app is CALM, which has guided and non-guided meditations, bed time stories for better sleep and lots of cool courses for personal growth, in addition it tracks the progress to keep me accountable. As I'm writing this, I'm at day 295 of meditating daily, definitely worth all its money.

For my affirmations and visualization I use CHAMPIONS MIND APP, app that is made for athletes and coaches to help staying motivated and overcome challenges. I love sports affirmations and guided visualizations in the app, because they increase my hope, motivation and help me stay focused, set the direction I want to go. In addition I just find affirmations in the internet and write them down in my journal.

My morning routine exercise is 5 minutes Surya Namascar (Sun Salutation yoga sequence), it get the blood flowing and also stretch the body for a better movement during the day.

My morning reading is always something for personal growth. Currently its is the book by Ryan Holiday, THE OBSTACLE IS THE WAY. I read and journal along the way. Example of great books for personal development and sports psychology you can find on the links below:

Scribing part for me is my daily journaling, where I start usually with the phrases, " Good morning! Today is a good day to have an amazing day!" After that I usually write down at least 5 things I am grateful for, then I write down my wishlist for things I want to happen to me, what I have accomplished and learnt yesterday and then my 3 daily priorities (goals). If I have something that bothering me I can write that to my journal, so I can have a chance to see a different prospective about the situation. On paper it may seem as you are writing about someone else and you can see situation without attachment to the subject.

Recently I have added to my morning routine Learning, because it makes me feel accomplished early in the morning and then the days goes with more confidence. As learning I watch 1-2 educational videos. For example, Dr. Benjamin Hardy has a lot of those https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC07WXGmXVbNrv3VMOp5DvDw

2. Exercise

I know that I already mentioned exercising in the morning routine, but 30-60 minutes of main exercise should be done daily. Its can be fast walk, hike, biking, running, strength training and so on.

Exercising helps staying healthy, improves mood, increases metabolism and just makes you feel good.

Recently I have not being able to do my favorite exerting activity, which is running, due to injury. So I discovered cycling and started doing more strength training.

3. Read and watch growth mindset books and videos.

I have mentioned earlier my favorite books and links. If you don't have time for reading books, there is a great option to implement it - listen to the audio books while exercising, doing some home work or just while commuting. Listening books while driving is incredible way to learn something new and stay calm while getting caught in traffic jam.

4. Do more things that make you feel good.

The more positive emotions you will experience the better you will feel. When you feel good, you can be happy and productive.

5. Spend more time with people who support you and from whom you can learn a lot.

Always make time for your self. If you feel good, the people around you can feel good too. If you are happy, you can create good things and make our world a better place.
